Who writes this.

The short answerGuides are written and maintained by The Benchnote editorial team at MEEG Ventures, LLC. Each one is built from manufacturer instructions, reputable trade sources and hands-on tutorial video, with products checked live on retailer pages and dated.

How a guide is made

  1. Demand first: we pick topics people actually search for, seasonally and year-round.
  2. Sources: manufacturer instructions, extension services and government safety agencies (such as the U.S. EPA and U.S. Fire Administration), and established trade publishers like This Old House.
  3. Products: verified live on the retailer page against our rating rules.
  4. Videos: checked to exist and credited to the creator.
  5. Updates: each page shows its check date and is re-verified on a schedule.

Safety

Our guides are general information, not professional advice. Follow the manufacturer's instructions and local code, and hire a licensed pro for gas, electrical, structural or roof work you're not comfortable with.
